Do something out of the ordinary by getting a drink aboard the Honorable William Wall. This floating clubhouse of the Manhattan Yacht Club is anchored in New York Harbor, just north of Ellis Island. Open now through October, it’s the perfect summer date for the adventurous couple. With close up views of The Statue of Liberty and sweeping views of the New York City Skyline, it’s certain to impress your date. A full bar is available on the upper deck but you are free to bring your own food aboard. All it takes is $20 boat ride to the barge from nearby Surf City Bar in Jersey City and you can enjoy a full day on the water (and one beautiful sunset). Curl up with your date in Central Park on June 17th when Alan Gilbert conducts the New York Philharmonic in Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite along with violinist Joshua Bell. Make sure to get there early to claim your spot because this free concert is pretty amazing. Now through October you can go kayaking along the Hudson for free, courtesy of the Manhattan Community Boathouse. Walk up to Pier 96 or to the dock at 72nd street (from June to September) and start having some fun, while getting a little workout in, as well. You’ll receive a brief instruction as well as all the safety equipment you’ll need to enjoy a 20-minute ride along the water. Once you’re back on land, make your way to nearby Boat Basin on 79th Street for some burgers and beers. The outdoor restaurant and bar is the perfect spot to catch up, sit back, and enjoy a nice sunny day. Kayaking is available from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays/Sundays at Pier 96 and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the 72nd St. Dock.

Grab drinks at the rooftop garden of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and check out the one-of-a-kind exhibition by artist Pierre Huyghe. His latest installation is the third in a new series of site-specific commissions that once again uses uncommon materials like living animals, plants, and other natural elements to explore the transformation of cultural and biological systems. Sip on a martini and take in the magnificent views of the upper west side, Central Park, and the rest of the city. It doesn’t get any better than that. Exhibit will be up and running through Nov. 1.

If you both like seafood, make your way over to Brooklyn Crab in Red Hook and grab a seat at the picnic table. Start cracking open those blue crabs.
